getting to huddersfield
Huddersfield is easily accessible by road
or train from anywhere in England. The M1 and the M62 pass
within a 10 mile radius of the town.
- From the North
- Take the A1 or M1 south as appropriate, then
take the M62 west. Exit at Junction 25 on the M62, turn left
and follow signs for Huddersfield Town Centre (A621).
- From the North West
- Go south on the M6 and M61 towards Manchester,
then take the M62 East (for a section it has been renamed
the M60 Manchester orbital). Leave the M62 at Junction 24,
follow the signs for Huddersfield Town Centre (A629 Halifax
Road into Huddersfield).
- From the South and South East
- Take the M1 north and exit at Junction 38.
Follow the A637 towards Flockton and Grange Moor. Then take
aright at the A642 roundabout to Huddersfield.
- From the South West
- Take the M6 north towards Manchester then
take the M62 east (for a section it has been renamed the M60
Manchester orbital). Then Leave the M62 at Junction 24, follow
the signs for Huddersfield Town Centre (A629 Halifax Road
into Huddersfield).
From the town centre the library is a 10-15 minute walk,
or a 3 minute drive from the ring road. From the town centre make
your way to Queensgate on the ring road, then turn on to Chapel Hill.
Continue past the traffic lights at the bottom of Chapel Hill and
onto Lockwood road. From there take the third right at Internet
Computers on Lockwood road. Continue on to the end of the road
and the library is situated on your left.
